The EXPONOR precinct is the largest exhibition area in Portugal. It hosts about 30 specialised trade fairs each year and hundreds of other events of various kinds.

The exhibition ground is in Leça da Palmeira – Matosinhos. It is five minutes from the urban centre of Porto, 10 minutes from the Francisco Sá Carneiro international airport and adjoins the port of Leixões, and also has excellent access by road to the main urban centres in Portugal and Galicia.

It is a facility that offers all the infrastructure and amenities needed to stage virtually any kind of event. EXPONOR is one of Iberia’s top performers in terms of internationalisation and has proved itself to be the very finest fair and exhibition centre for the industrial sectors throughout the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. Between 1987 (year of inauguration) and 2012, nearly 680 fairs were held, involving 175 thousand exhibitor firms and attracting 11 million visitors (approximate figures). Among the events staged are some of the most important trade fairs held in Portugal, in sectors highly relevant to the domestic economy such as metalworking, building, furniture and decoration, home textiles, jewellery and precious metals, electrical and electronics industry, and machinery and tools for various industries.

With a total area of 200,000 m2, of which 60,000 m2 are covered, EXPONOR has six pavilions of varying sizes and with different features, and these, together with adjacent galleries and halls amount to 45,000 m2 of covered exhibition area.

The complex also has conference centre with capacity for 1,805 people, and there are five car parks with a total of 2,000 spaces.

Among the many facilities offered are a
telecommunications service, ATM machines, bars and restaurants, the Exhibitor Club (with communication and secretarial services), medical centre, taxi rank, security services, fire brigade and youth club.
